blanca & delgis
Blanca, originally from antigua, guatemala, always knew she would return to have a destination wedding in her hometown. Blanca & Delgis were surrounded by 200 of their closest family and friends as they celebrated in incredible ruins – the church and convent of las capuchinas – which was built in the classic 18th century architecture and was actually the last convent built in Antigua! Below is a small snippet of their week long wedding with family and friends!

A place at times I didn’t think I was still on planet earth, but then the sudden realization that THIS IS (ACTUALLY) MOTHER EARTH. The beauty in the vastness, the seemingly peacefulness of it’s wanderers, the striking colors, and the several moments where I found myself in places and moments where I’d have only a few minutes to make my escape before imminent danger was upon me (yah, I’m looking at you shifting tectonic plates while snorkeling and active volcanos while I’m glacier trekking). Iceland in spring can be summed up into this: a place I have never been so cold and so hot within a matter of moments; a place I have never wanted my sunglasses so badly, or a coverall arctic extreme suit to go over my already 7 layers of NYC style winter clothes (sorry LA, your layering situation doesn’t cut it outside of LA). I had the fortunate experience of tagging along on a FAM trip with some friends who plan incredible trips, none other than the adventurers at Smart Flyer. We were hosted by the incredible outfitters, Nordic Luxury who pulled out all of the stops to make our stay not only incredible, but extremely memorable.
We had a jam packed 5 days and 4 nights complete with snowmobiling on a glacier during an intense snowstorm, the drive getting up there through immeasurable snow (we deflated the tires just to get through it!) was also incredible, We dunebuggied through mountains and rivers, glacier trekked, cozied up in a beautiful scandinavian home – the river out back was heated water from the nearby hot springs, snorkeled through active tectonic plates (where the eurasian tectonic plate meets the north american tectonic plate creating the mid atlantic ridge. also – I have NEVER been so cold in my life – we had on many layers and a dry suit and I was still frozen. also, not so easy when you need to use the restroom…), drank real glacial water while trekking, horseback riding, blue lagoon, visited many beautiful places to stay and view the northern lights (had they been out for a show), all topped off with a helicopter ride over Reykjavik and surrounding areas.

After 17 years of dating, Patti and Dave decided to tie the knot! A uniquely restored former church with tons of natural light on a cute little island 13 miles off the shore of Rhode Island called Block Island was the perfect backdrop for their summer wedding! Patti and I talked a few times before her wedding and knew we were on the same page visually about what she was looking for for wedding photos, but it wasn’t until we actually met at her cute little shop called Salt in Mystic, CT that I knew that this would be one epic wedding! She has an incredible aesthetic and knew that the wedding would be effortless and beautiful. Their 17 year love story was shining so brightly on their beautiful wedding day in September!

Melissa & Barry are both in the entertainment industry! Melissa composes and performs songs for various projects and Barry is a producer of some pretty awesome Hollywood movies! They had their wedding at the beautiful Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara and it was full of classic touches! Planned and designed by my fave Alex of Alex Events! Friends and family came from all over the states and england to celebrate!

from the couple: The moment we walked into the Villa at SJC, I knew it was where I wanted to marry Hayden. It felt as though we were truly in a small, intimate villa in Italy. With its character, greenery, and charm, I immediately fell in love with everything it had to offer. There were two very important things to us while searching for our wedding venue: 1) an all outdoor space and 2) an all outdoor space that could accommodate both ceremony and reception. The Villa made our dreams come to life! We knew we didn’t want to compete with any of the Villa’s natural beauty, so we chose decor and elements that would only compliment not only the space, but us as a couple. Rustic, romantic and intimate, yet bright, warm, and welcoming. Thanks to all of our incredible vendors, our wedding day came to be more beautiful than I had ever envisioned.
Anna & Shawn
Anna & Shawn met just a little over a year ago and fell hard for each other! I cannot wait for their wedding later this year at Winvian! We had so much fun playing in the fresh snow during their Connecticut engagement session and their dog Roxy loved being in the snow!
